It's just a number

I overheard my dad saying that he needs to lose 15 pounds. First off I thought "Man that is a lot of weight" Secondly I thought "why would he possibly want to lose weight?" It seems like mom and dad are wanting me to gain weight. This is just further proof that grownups are weird. Lastly I thought when daddy weighed me yesterday I weighed 14.5 pounds. I was just a little guy at birth 5 pounds 12 ounces. So by my calculations I have gained 8 pounds 12 ounces so far. Seeing as it has taken almost 5 months to gain that weight, I would say my dad has his work cut out for him to lose 15 pounds. The most confusing thing about this weight loss goal is the fact that everyone is fascinated about how much weight I have gained. Shoot every time I get weighed and I have gained weight my dad makes the same face he did when the Tigers beat the Indians on that wild pitch last Sunday. So after a leisurely third feeding today, I confronted dad about this weight loss goal. I said dad "I am worried about you. I don't think it is a very healthy idea to try to lose 15 pounds. I would have got some people over here for an intervention, but I don't know how to work a phone, and I am sure everyone is watching the Tigers or Red Wings. However, I just need to know your reasoning behind losing weight." After a good belly laugh, A rather large belly laugh in more ways then one, my dad gave me his side of the story. He said he doesn't necessarily have to lose 15 pounds but he does have to be healthy. To be more healthy be must lose some weight. He added that he loves me and mommy very much. In order to keep his heart in good working order he cannot be overweight. Daddy went on to say that he wants to spend many many more years hanging out with me. In order to do this he has to get in shape. This made me feel very good inside. Even though I am still confused about this whole weight loss/weight gain thing. One thing I can understand is love. Good luck dad Mommy and I are rooting for you to lose the weight.
P.S. That fancy jogging stroller you and mommy bought might be a good way to drop a couple pounds, and have some fun with Me!!! Just a little friendly advice from A.C. Peace and love Asher

  2. I think Asher has a great idea about the jogging. You get in shape and he has some fresh air and quality time with Daddy. You just have to get into the routine which is sometimes the hardest part. Before you know it the winter weight is gone and everyones happy. Love Mom
