Why your the best Mom

This blog entry is dedicated to my mother. The most beautiful, smart, and loving women I know. This is going to sound very cliche according to daddy, however, I am going to say it anyway. I don't always tell you how much you mean to me. Daddy says this is a line guys use when they can't express their real feelings and emotions. I thought about this for a sec and realized this does not apply to me. I know I know I can't verbalize what I am feeling but come on I truly wear my feelings on my sleeve. If I am happy I give you the biggest smile in the world. If I am tired or dropped a gift off in my diaper I am going to cry. Mom dad explained this whole Mother's day deal to me, and I tell ya what I love it. I don't think Mother's get enough credit. I mean come on mothers truly make the world go round. Lets just review the facts on why you rock. You handled being nauseous the whole pregnancy. I would like to see daddy handle that. In honor of Mother's day I would just like to let the world know that I love you so much. You make me smile every time I see you. I know you love to sleep. Yet every morning when I scream my wake-up scream you come in and flash that mommy smile that always makes me melt inside. I love how you sing to me. Your voice is very beautiful and makes me feel special. Daddy might sing to me too but as you and all our friends and family know his voice is not very good. I love how you teach me how to dance. I know this is a good skill to have. According to dad ladies love a man that can dance. When I pressed dad about why mom married him even though he can't dance he told me I should learn how to smile. Cause if you can't dance you gotta at least flash a nice smile to get a pretty girls attention. Mom I love how you are able to balance working and loving on me. You do a great job of working from home even when I am being a huge distraction. Daddy tells me all the time that you make him a better man. So mommy on my first mothers day I am here to tell you that you make me a better baby. You rock my world and I can't wait till I can tell you face to face that Mom I love so much. You make me the luckiest man/baby on the face of the Earth. (Sorry Lou Gehrig that is just such a great line I had to use it) I love you Mom you are the best Mom ever. Asher

Johnny Damon rocks!!!

Wow what an experience I had at my first Tigers game. Saturday morning I was expecting to go to play at Nana and Papas house. Enroute to their house my daddy got a call from his good friend and head coach of the JV baseball team they coach at Seaholm. Dan told daddy that the doubleheader was canceled. However, Don, the varsity head coach had two tickets to the Tiger game this afternoon. My daddy was very excited. He said he would drop me off at Nana and Papa's and then swing by his place. Lucky for me Dan is a Polish genius. Dan said this would be a good opportunity to take me to my first Tiger game. Daddy thought for about a tenth of a second and said "Hell yeah! great idea". So daddy put me in my Mommy's all-star oufit with my Tigers cap and off we went diaper bag in tote. It was cloudy when we first arrived. I was feeling comfy. Then the sun came out and I was getting hot! Luckily my dad had put sun block on me before we left. As far as the game went the Tigers scored first to go up 1 to 0. As the game went on the Tigers decided to start making errors left and right. As I was heating up the Tigers defense was cooling off. Miguel Cabrera who dad says is a Triple Crown Threat was playing like the Court Jester. He made two errors in one inning! The Tigers went down 2 to 1. Then the Tigers rebounded and started playing a little better, they tied the game at 2 going into the 8th inning. Around this time Daddy talked to Grandpa Gerry. He was at the game too! So we met up and said our hellos. I could hear my Grandpa before I could see him. His voice is very booming and it always puts a smile on my face. When I have a smile on my face the ladies just melt. I heard the lady in the pink ask Gerry if he was looking for a guy with the cutest baby ever. I just knew she was talking about me. We met up with great Aunt Barb and Sue as well as Great Uncle David. It was pretty cool. I also met local radio personality Drew from the Drew and Mike show on the WRIF. He seemed nice though it seemed as if he was playing hide and seek with my cousin Isabelle and did not want to be found. Once dad and I got back to our seats we were ready for an epic conclusion to my first Tiger game. Johnny Damon the Tigers left fielder threw a strike to home to stop the Angels from scoing the go ahead run and keep the game tied. This came as a huge surprise to me because Daddy has told me many times that he had a better arm than Johnny Damon when he was 12 years old. Either daddy had a really good arm when he was 12 or daddy is full of bologna. In the bottom of the ninth Dan and daddy were talking and Dan said this would be a great chance for Damon to hit a walk off homer. Daddy said yup, also a great spot for his first homer as a Tiger. Two pitches later I heard a resounding crack of the bat and pandemonium ensued. Johnny Damon had hit a walk-off homer to win the game. To celebrate We went to Lafayette Coney Island and had a couple chilli dogs. Dad put his pinkie in the chilli and let me taste it. It was very flavorful but I think I will stick to Similac for now. What a day! I just gotta say Dad you are awesome but for a day Johnny Damon you rock. Asher
